The Office of Rural Connectivity Programs awards grants for broadband and digital access projects in rural and tribal communities. This site publishes where that money went, what stage it is at, what it has delivered, and which of our targets we are not meeting.
- $2.4B
- Awarded since 2015
- 1,284
- Active awards
- 3.1M
- Households connected
- 46 / 31
- States and tribal nations served
Award totals are obligations, not payments: of the $2.4B committed since 2015, $1.8B has actually been paid out, and the rest is committed to projects still under construction. See how that works.
Mission
What this office does
We make grants so that households, businesses, and community institutions in rural and tribal areas can get reliable high-speed internet service. We do not build networks and we do not sell service. We award funds to states, counties, tribal governments, nonprofit organizations, and special districts, and we hold them to what they said they would deliver.
The current federal fiscal year, FY2026, runs October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026 and is still open. The most recent complete year is FY2025. Figures for FY2026 are partial: $269M obligated so far.

Our commitments
- Open by default
Every dataset behind these pages is published in machine-readable form with a data dictionary, in the public domain, with no request required.
- Accessible to every reader
This site conforms to Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Every chart has a table, every control works from a keyboard, and no status depends on color.
- Results, not just spending
We publish what our projects delivered alongside what they cost, including the targets we are not meeting and why.
Award and spending figures on this site are drawn from the office's financial system and are unaudited except where a published Agency Financial Report states otherwise. Where a figure here differs from an audited report, the audited report controls.
